Hello, Pacific County! My name is Dave Deskins and I'm the new interim Fair and Parks Manager for Pacific County.
I was born and raised in Pacific County and have spent my life, with the exception of four years, living in South Bend and Raymond. I, along with my wife, Nicole, and our three daughters are proud to call this beautiful county home.
When it comes to organizing the fair, hands on experience is a must. Last year I was able to work alongside my predecessor to see behind the scenes of what really goes into putting on our annual event. From working the grounds and supervising our summer help to interacting with the public, I quickly realized just how much fun and how much hard work this new adventure will be.
Although I'm new to this side of management, I'm excited to make our fair and parks some of the best places to visit in our county. Thankfully, I have a lot of support and resources within our community and county to help along the way. I know with their help and yours, we can build the fair back to what it was before - fun, exciting, and a great place to make memories with friends and loved ones.
I'm honored to be a part of the community in this capacity and would love to hear from you on how we, Pacific County as a whole, can make our fair a must see event. Please feel free to reach out at any time at ddeskins@co.pacific.wa.us.
Thank you,
Dave Deskins

I have lived in Pacific County my entire life. My great grandparents settled in Frances in the 1800’s where I live today with the love of my life Buddy. We have raised 3 wonderful children together. My joy is my family. I enjoy cooking, backing and gardening. The garden is my healing space, to pray, reflect and be silent in nature. Most likely you’ve seen me there when passing by. Buddy is the one hitting golf balls.
Dairy Superintendent
I have been involved in the dairy industry for most of my life. Although my career path took me to be a nurse, helping to promote the dairy industry has always been a strong theme in my life. I believe there are lots of life lessons that can be taught by working with youth and animals. Some of those lessons are not the easiest but they help you grow. My experiences with 4-H have helped me to be able to present to large groups of people on a variety of topics. I also know record keeping skills because of my time in 4-H. I enjoy volunteering at the fair, as it is a way to give back to my community and the youth.

Hobby Barn Superintendent
Elaine has been the superintendent of the Hobby section of the Pacific County Fair for 53 years. She has
been with us through numerous fair superintendents and fair boards. She has put in endless hours not
only with the hobby barn, but also creating and painting various figures and critters around the
fairgrounds that you seen on the buildings and free standing. She also has created many scrapbooks that
have won awards on the state level and created the fair banners you see hanging in the Commercial
Building. Elaine is one who uses her creative mind to come up with ideas and activities too for those
who attend the fair. Be sure and visit Elaine in the Hobby Barn this year and give her a thank you for her
involvement and see if there are any cupcakes left. She will have some games for you to play too.
THANK YOU, ELAINE, for all that you do and have done for the Pacific County Fair.
